Marking up your freight can be a great way to minimize the impact that freight shipping can have on your margins. These percentage add-ons help circumvent unforeseen costs before or after your orders are shipped.
Reasons to Mark up Your Freight
- Cover costs for packaging.
- Alleviate additional staffing and payment service fees.
- Help with incidentals such as damage/returns.
With our markup feature, the Account Owner can assign a specific percentage markup that is unique to each user on the account.
Adding Mark Up
Starting in your Settings, click on Company Users.
Click the blue edit pen on the right to open a slider and view options. Here you can change permission levels or add/remove mark up.
Visibility
Users can see their markup via the rate breakdown on the quote page, however, we will not expose the data on the rate detail or published documents. You will still be billed and have visibility to the direct freight cost on your Analytics and Auditing pages.

Some of our customers have requested to add a flat dollar amount for their markup, but we recommend against that method because some shipments are more costly than others.
