Freightview’s Fuel & Distance tools give shippers greater visibility into mileage, fuel surcharges, and historical truckload pricing, helping you make more informed decisions when quoting and managing freight.

Know Your Mileage

Freightview integrates with PC*Miler to calculate shipment mileage across Truckload and LTL workflows. Choose the routing method that best fits your operation:

  • Practical (Default): Balances drive time and route efficiency for realistic truck travel.
  • Fastest: Prioritizes highway travel to minimize transit time.
  • Shortest: Minimizes physical miles traveled.

Mileage is then available throughout Freightview, including quote screens, shipment details, spot quotes, and CSV reports.

Make Fuel Costs Easier to Understand

Fuel & Distance also supports automated fuel surcharge calculations based on a shipment's mileage. You can configure fuel tables using either a per-mile rate or a percentage of linehaul, and Freightview can apply those calculations and add them alongside your Contracted Rates.

Here, you can load a fuel table for all contracted rates OR set up carrier-specific fuel tables

Freightview’s system fuel rates are updated daily using data from either the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) or Breakthrough Fuel. Enjoy automatically refreshing fuel costs based on the scheduled pickup date.

That means less manual calculation and more visibility into how fuel affects a shipment's total cost.

Put Today's Rates in Context

Fuel & Distance also unlocks Historical Pricing for Truckload quoting.

When you're quoting a lane similar to freight you've recently moved, Freightview can surface previous pricing directly on the Truckload quote screen. You can filter historical data by:

  • Booked Date Window: 30–90 days
  • Lane Tolerance: How closely the historical lane needs to match
  • Lead Time: How far in advance the shipment was booked

Instead of looking at a truckload rate in isolation, you can compare it with your recent shipment history.
